Anyone read the Percy & the Olympians series? I just got the sample portion for the Kindle. It's supposed be kinda like Harry Potter with the Classical Gods.

Was the sample good? It sounds like it would be interesting for someone who likes mythology.

They're good. Not as intense, or as long, as the Harry Potter books got but yeah, the same 'teens triumph and save the world' feeling is there.

My wife LOVES these books and has read them addictively.

She also is crazy about HP and pretty addicted to the Twilight series.

Thanks for the heads up on these books. I am going to read the first one and see what I think. I have it on hold at my local library.

I am just about to start book 5. I love the books. I have always loved Greek mythology.

Hurtbs, thanks for the recommendation!

Big hit here in our household, for mom and kids alike. They've made it all the way through the series, but mom has only read the first book. One of these days...

I enjoyed the first book as well as the film. Just be warned - the film is very different from the book. They changed a lot of the story.

Over all though I like the fact they are different.
