I decided, finally, to join the monthly book club discussions on my other board.

What are the chances that the book this month would be all about cheating?

I'm having a hard time stomaching the nonsense. Especially given that I really don't care for chick lit anyway.

Just another example of popular media justifying cheating - oh, the fiancee was a bitch anyway, so she totally had it coming.

He's 41, I'm 35. One awesome 6-year-old daughter, and a brand-new sweet baby boy, June 5.

I read this before d-day and I even thought it was crappy then.

There are a couple books after this that continue the story.

Chick-lit's my summertime fav by the pool!

I read this book a few years ago and I *hated* it. After undergoing some (obvious) amnesia, I just read "Something Blue," and almost threw up when someone said that it was supposed to show you how even the most selfish of people can be redeemed.

Darcy is a cheater who ends up pregnant with her OP's baby in this book, so I don't think many people on this site would enjoy it. I'm too disgusted to finish off the series.

Just to depress everyone still further, I believe it's just been made into a film. I was also very disappointed by the book. It.... Oh - the next bit's another

***SPOILER***, really:

It did keep me engaged. I kept reading (well, listening, actually - I bought it as an audiobook) until the very end. Maybe I've been too naive in my light reading hitherto, but I kept waiting for Morality to kick in and for the narrator to start making good decisions. I honestly expected the ending to be what I would consider a happy one. And when I reached the end, I was stunned! I kept thinking:
"No, no. There's an error somewhere. This can't possibly be the end!"

ETA Oops - I see Really Trying posted about the film while I was in mid-write. Sorry for the repeat. (It certainly didn't merit it!)

I have read some of Emily Giffin's books. They are easy fluff for summer reading. Almost everyone of her books deals with infidelity. I don't like the way she usually deals with it. Something Borrowed and Something Blue both bugged me.

In Heart of the Matter, she made the OW more of a sympathetic figure than the wife. I still preferred the wife, but if you go to amazon's reviews of the book tons of people wanted the WH to end up with OW.

I wonder of she has experience with infidelity?
