First sign of spring

It's officially spring here. The daffodils have not yet emerged, the birds have not returned, and there are still little patches of snow here and there, but I know it's spring.

How do I know? By counting the number of cat hairs in my salad. NIKcat is shedding EVERYWHERE!!!

We've got crocuses (crocuii?) and daffodils coming up here, but no blossoms that I've seen yet. The real sign of spring in DC is when everyone's allergies kick in - the entire city is allergic to cherry blossoms and they're everywhere.

We have crocuses too! Daffys have flowers showing too.

Looked yesterday and most everything is budding out!!

Although out here in WA, right now, you have to look between the rain drops!!

In my house, the first sign of spring is when Lie-Lie starts blowing her winter coat. Anybody who owns huskies or malamutes knows exactly what I'm talking about. And if you don't, google it. Good news, other than spring and fall, they don't shed otherwise.

Oh my god nik!!! I know your pain

Last week DS and I were chatting in the mod forum about how she was getting her house ready for the party and I mentioned how it was a good thing we weren't having it at my house because everyone could build their own cat as a take home gift with the way my cats are shedding

And my big one isn't content to just shed. She rips it out! So there's big ol' plugs of cat hair I have to sweep up every morning. I used to worry about it so much until the vet pointed out I called him about it every spring

Go softly my sweet friend. You will always be a part of who I am.

Um, yeah. I'm packing away the black clothing until this passes. It's ridiculous!

Just gotta ask...what is this *Spring* that you all speak of???

Crocus, daffodils, and sporatic trees in bloom here, but the main "bloom" is still a few weeks off here.

Would love some sun to go with the flowers, cannot enjoy them if it is too wet to be outisde for walks, trips to the park, etc.

Spring?????

Not until Wednesday -- Spring begins with the vernal equinox at 7:02 A.M. (EDT) on March 20, 2013 in the Northern Hemisphere.

BTW, no crocuses, daffodils or other spring flowers here -- only in pots @ the grocery store

....Though a friend of mine did see her first robin last week.......

I'm anxiously waiting for the Vernal Equinox.....

....The cats are shedding....I'm blowing my nose a lot .....hmmm......

Too funny NIK, I said the same thing about TushDog last week. She is a black lab, and when I was done petting her, she left a small pile of hairs. Time to start the daily vacuming.

Unfortunately I watched it snow all day here yesterday, no real accumulation, but Hell, come on spring!!!!
