The G/F I'm stayi g with is a good friend. We obviously have talked more and been closer lately. I should mention she is the ex of the friend I flirted and flashed years ago, before they dated. She is aware of it and does not care. In talking to her I have found out that she not only has been a BGF, but also a WGF and an OW. At first I was unsure how to approach but it seems the more we talk about my situation and how I am growing and changing from it the more she is examining her past and what she wants for the future. I do not want to disclose the details of her past here because it is her business but I feel like it is actually helping me delve deeper into my issues by having these talks with her. I feel like I am helping her and she is helping me. There are times where her boundaries are looser then those I am setting for myself where I tell her I am not willing to step where she is going but I find that good as well that I know my boundaries are strong.

I miss having close girlfriends, but the ones I've felt the closest to for so long, have moved away and gotten married and have kids or my oldest friend, since 6th grade, the one where we can go months, even years without talking and just pick up like we saw each other yesterday isn't present enough in my life. I miss her terribly, but it seems like we always just miss each other. I should try and reach out to her more, should set that as one of my commitment goals and follow through. Thanks for this post Unagie, made me think about the true value of my friendships.
