Yesterday was a bad day. I had to get rid of my dog after he went to attack my son. It was a very emotional day for me. At the end of the day I just needed a hug and be held. My WH was also hurting from the emotions of the day. He held me and feel good for a few minutes but then the mental movies popped in my head. Wondering if he held her like this. He cheated with a hk from Craigslist for oral sex but I don't know if thats all he did and had told Me everything. he said he did.I feel like my life is imploding. First hurricane sandy, then d day and now this. Any ideas???? It's only been less than a month since d day.

I am so sorry to hear about all of this. It's actually kind of hard to lose a pet.
Here's a virtual hug for ya..

I know it's only been just under a month, but in some ways it seems like a lifetime, doesn't it??
Unfortunately you will be having these thoughts for quite some time to come. It's never the same for any two people, but it doesn't go away over night.
It sounds like you are off to a good start in R though.
Stay strong and good luck to you.

Thanks. I very anger and hurt but not going to make a snap decision after all be have been together for 28 years. I know I had to give up the dog. I couldn't live with my self if the dog hurt anyone. He is a 100lb German Shepard and 20 months old. I just need to be held which my h was more then happy to to then BAM the mental movie starts. I have no control over it. I start to crying which is uncontrollable. It is so frustrating.

So sorry about your dog. I'm a big dog lover and mine have actually helped me through some of this crazy stuff.
As for the mind movies, other vets on the site will tell you that they do lessen with time. Your D-Day was less than a month ago. I was there myself a while ago, and they did ease up, but it took more than a month. Unfortunately, there's just no off switch, damn, there's not even a pause button.
You've been dealing with so many horrific circumstances in your life aside from the A, you must be a very strong person. Stay strong now, I'm keeping you in my thoughts and sending you hugs.

Imagine a ship trying to set sail while towing an anchor. Cutting free is not a gift to the anchor. You must release that burden, not because the anchor is worthy, but because the ship is.
