My chiropractor told me to only use crossbody or handheld purses for a year until my back doesn't look like a question mark anymore

So I need a new crossbody bag for summer.

Thoughts on this one?

http://www.amazon.com/Chicastic-Fuchsia-Ostrich-Convertible-Crossbody/dp/B00B6C73K6/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=1EQAAJ70G2PAE&coliid=I3CPN5K86Y2DLI&psc=1

Is it cute? or ugly? I have bad fashion taste, but I feel like I keep seeing ostrich everywhere, and I like ostrich. I can't decide if pink or blue would be better.

Feel free to talk about the amazingness of purses in general, or make suggestions. I don't want to spend much more than $35, or up to $50 on Amazon (I've got a giftcard).

I like the blue one but I am so picky on purses the last one I got was by dumb luck at a yard sale.

I think it's adorable, although it doesn't look "fuchia" to me... more rust or blood orange. That being said I like the color, so if what you see is what you get I say get it!

So, what were you using? Why not a backpack?

I've been using a nice black cross body bag but I can't use black for summer.

I use a backpack for school, but I need a purse for stuff like going out It basically just needs to hold my wallet, sunglasses, chapstick and hand sanitizer, phone, maybe a bottle of water or my kindle... I don't carry much stuff.

I prefer backpacks for everything...

I have giant ones for work...

Smaller ones for going out that just hold a purse...

Here are three that I own... not these of course, because I'm not selling mine... but they are very similar.

I love the hands free aspect of a backpack. These are very nice.

Hey, I've seen those before... on tourists

My problem that I have with using a backpack is that everything is inaccessible. Even when I use a backpack for school, I end up carrying a separate bag for things I need to get to during the day - wallet (and metro card), phone, sanitizer, water, gloves during the winter, etc. This might be the effect of commuting on the train; I don't want to have to take my backpack on and off a lot, because there really isn't space to do so without whacking someone.

Not sure if you like ThirtyOne bags, but they have a few crossbody options. I got one for when I go to Ethiopia this summer...I feel a little safer being able to wear my bag across me instead of on my shoulder, since the biggest crime problem is petty theft.

I use a small, one-shoulder backpack when I'm out & about, as I prefer to walk as much as I can. It's a Swiss Army pack; bought it at Walmart, and I don't remember what I paid, but it was probably less than $20. It holds my wallet, lip gloss, my Nook or a magazine, my keys and my cell phone (I wear my sunglasses.) The only thing I don't like about it is that it has a teeny, tiny cell phone pocket on the strap (the part that crosses your chest) and no smart phone I know would ever fit in it.

Sad, do you have to take it off to get stuff out of it? Or is it the kind that swings around?

Okay, another question, kind of gross, but does it make your back sweat? I usually carry a shoulder bag, and actually stop carrying it on my shoulder in the summer because it creates sweat spots on my side ... DC is so gross in the summer

Mo3K, I have had mixed experiences with 31. I have four bags of theirs; I love two and hate two, and actually there's a noticeable quality difference in the most recent two I bought - not sure if that's just the styles I picked or if their quality is going downhill...

I don't have anyone local who sells it, and wish their catalogues showed more angles or gave more details about the bags!

I love love love the LeSportsac crossbody bags. They are bold prints but there are so many to choose from. You can usually find a deal on some of them on 6pm.com though they won't carry all of the print selections. The Casey crossbody is smaller. I prefer the Cleo.
I use them on our August Florida trips and don't find them too hot or bulky.

You can swing it around to get into the zippered areas. I've never noticed any problems with perspiration, but in hot, humid weather, anything against your body is going to cause that.

true... maybe I should be looking for something with both a long crossbody strap and a handheld strap that I can use to carry it if I'm getting sweaty.

Gees. I love that I'm basing my purse shopping on sweat.

How about a Healthy Back Bag??

http://www.ameribag.com/classic-healthy-back-bag/

I have two of these... they're good, not a go to for me, but still very serviceable.

The bag you posted has a long and a short strap.

I like it, in both colors. I think I'd go for the pink, unless you wear a lot of read, then get the blue.

I have a cross body "tourist" purse I got out in Montana. I love it, when I'm being a tourist, but, I wouldn't carry it to work.

I love purses, and I really want an ostrich one this summer.
T/j last week, Aussie opened the closet and all my purses fell out. He was frustrated and said "why do you even need this many purses? I haven't seen you carry any except the red one in a long time!" So, every day since then, I have switched purses to match whatever I'm wearing. He is not amused.

It will all be ok in the end. If it's not ok, it's not the end

Happily remarried to a wonderful man (Aussie). I think I found the right guy and the right finger this time.

Weatherly!

That's how I am too though, I use a purse until it's dead. Really need to find ones that work for everything, including work (think one step below law firm professional), so it's a pain in the butt buying new ones that don't break the bank.
