Dinner Fail #1 = Frozen pizza instead of cooking

Dinner Fail #2 = Hearing the beep of the timer, supposedly telling me the pizza is done, only to find the thawing pizza sitting atop the stove.

Next time maybe dinner THEN wine?

Ok, this made me snicker...

I am not laughing at you, but with you because while I don't believe I have ever done just this.... I so WOULD do something like this.

Thanks for the chuckle. I needed that.

Were you mixing drinks in the other room or perhaps had a few ....like me when I am cooking?

See, now that is where you tell everyone the timer was just so you would know the oven was preheated, and now that it is you can cook the pizza.

"But honey, it ALWAYS takes 25 minutes for the oven to preheat!"

madseason posted 4/7/2013 11:40 AM

Sounds like your pizza was as good as mine was the time that I put the pizza in the oven but never actually turned the oven ON.

Unagie posted 4/7/2013 11:58 AM

Try turning on the oven to preheat then an hour later wondering why its so hot and why is the oven on? Then remembering oops I meant to put that tray of brownie batter in the oven....

When I was in high school I once put a pizza in the oven with the cardboard piece stuck to it. Fortunately it did not burn down my mother's house (I never would have heard the end of that!) but it was rather difficult to cut with the pizza cutter

I do this at least 3 times a week.

One time I needed to keep the pizza that was delivered warm until we could sit down to eat it. I put the entire pizza in the box into the oven and turned it on. Wasn't long before we smelled burning cardboard.

I didn't do this but SO put food in the oven one day that was in a metal container with a plastic cover. He was so upset when he took it out all set to eat and realized he'd forgotten to take off the cover and now had melted plastic all over his food. I might have snorted.

tushnurse posted 4/8/2013 08:11 AM

No none of us have ever done that.

I'm not a timer kind of girl, and to my detriment have made charcoal out of frozen pizza more times than I care to admit.

Amazonia posted 4/8/2013 08:14 AM

Has anyone else melted a pizza through the rack? I grew up putting the pizza on a pan, pan in the oven. My friend told me, Oh, no, you don't need a pan, just put it right on the rack!

I don't know what I did, but the pizza looked like a big W dripping through all the slots of the rack when I opened the oven.
