Daisy - not sure what kind

Calitunia (a hybrid I guess)

I don't know what this is... I think it's an azalea but I've never seen it bloom... does anyone know what it is?

BrokenRoad posted 4/16/2013 20:09 PM

Yay for flowers!

We're still getting snow where I am at. Good to see some flowers.

jrc1963 posted 4/16/2013 20:14 PM

Sorry for the snow...

We're already in the 80's every day here... UGH...

sadcat posted 4/16/2013 20:16 PM

It looks like an azalea. Is it in full sun?

jrc1963 posted 4/16/2013 20:21 PM

Yes, it's in full sun...

I actually have four back there... I had five but the kudzu claimed one.

Aww... pretty flowers! My neighbor has some crocuses blooming. I should take a pic

welcome14 posted 4/16/2013 20:33 PM

I think the second one is coreopsis. Hope that helps.

jrc1963 posted 4/16/2013 20:55 PM

Thanks Welcome!!!

Looks like what I got...

I'm hoping that next year I'll actually have flower beds ready for spring planting.

cinnamongurl posted 4/17/2013 01:52 AM

Definitely coreopsis.

As for the azelea, they love acidic soil. I feed my great aunt's azaleas coffee grounds. It was kind of funny to walk into a Starbucks in Bergen county NJ in my gardener's garb and muddy sneakers and ask them to save the grounds! I got quite a few odd glances. But fyi, Starbucks does do this.

jrc1963 posted 4/17/2013 15:00 PM

I will try the coffee grounds... If I ever start making iced coffee at home again.
