Anyone have experience getting a scrip for a companion dog?

Anyone here gotten a prescription for a companion dog? If so, can you outline the details of the process?

Me - 40 something. WXH DDay 2006, Divorced 2012
WBF DDay #1 9/2022 #2 11/2022

Most of my patients have done the background work with the agency to even see if they would qualify. Then I write the letter asking for the animal. Then insurances, etc duke it out. Once you have the animal your work, school, etc, have to fall in line for ADA reasons,

Me: BS 50
Her: FWS 53 (both family med MDs; together 23 years)
OW: who cares (PhD)
Dday: 10/11: 11/11 TT for months; NC 8/12

It depends on why you need the service animal. There are blind ones, diabetes ones, seizure ones, companion for depression, etc.
