So after a year of being a slug, not exercising, being happy and eating, I decided that I need to get control of my health again. I'm 46, overweight, out of shape and having heart issues.

SO>>> I started the Couch To 5K program last week. I got an app for my phone that is awesome and also lets me play my own music while I'm running/walking. I've done 3 workouts, so I have officially completed the 1st week of the program! Woo Hoo!

I told JM my goal is to run the dam at Lake Murray (1.7 miles across) across and back by the end of the summer. I told him he won't know what to do with me and his response was, "I bet I will."

Good for you lady!!! Proud of you. I know I need to get my butt moving also. I am not over weight but I need to get toned up for summer and get my butt walking and working out. Can we say lazy? I come home from work and the couch calls my name until I have to cook dinner or clean but it is still screaming for me to come and sit down....

I just finished the first day of week 8, this morning. I ran two miles. Walked the other mile. I'm still out of shape and exhausted, but, I can run. For 28 minutes straight.

You can do it, but you really need to keep with it. H started it with me, but hasn't stuck with the program, so, he's still about passed out at 3 min of running. Make sure to stretch!

It will all be ok in the end. If it's not ok, it's not the end

Happily remarried to a wonderful man (Aussie). I think I found the right guy and the right finger this time.

I did C25K two summers ago, and I fell in love with running through the program. I'm so ready for school to finish so I have time to do more than study, work and breathe occasionally, I miss running!!

I hate running and always have. But somehow I decided to start the c25k this year as well

I've done week 2 day 2 and week 2 is haaaaaaaaaaaard. Week 3 is even scarier. I need to stop looking ahead.

From what I've read, most people repeat some weeks which is comforting to know

me - tsol, that's all for now

I did the program last year. Actually, I made H, DD and DS all do it. My kids sooooo hated it, but it was family time, dang it! I actually did a total of 3 5Ks in the fall. Man, I was sloooowwww. But, i finished!

I just started again this week because the couch won during our New England winter. I am hoping to get a bit faster this time. The program seems really tough, but if I can do it, you can do it! Promise!
