You gals were right (of course)....I went back for my scan on my ovarian cyst and it is even bigger and needs to come out.
Gyn said it is wedged between my stomach and front of uterus and she fears it will fall & twist.
Anyhoo - due to additional issues, decision was made to remove uterus/cervix, cyst and that one ovary (if it is even still alive in there)...leaving the other ovary.
I went online to read about it and people's experiences/recovery.
Sometimes that may be a mistake to look online
Anyone want to share their recovery times? I read everything from "No problem - no painkillers and back to work in 5 days..." to "OMG - worst pain ever! Still down & out at 6 weeks"
They are going to try to do laproscopic assisted, uterus via vagina removal.
Thanks again for your help!

There are a few factors...age, weight, if you're a smoker, what else they may find once they start the surgery, etc. that will determine your recovery time. Each person is different and how someone else's body recovers may be different than yours, unfortunately. Heck, I had three C-Sections and recovery with each one was different
Good luck with the surgery and let us know how it goes!
P.S. I don't recommend posting on SI while on pain meds...not that I would have any experience with that

I had a "traditional" hysterectomy (bikini line incision) at age 43, plus he also removed the cervix and both ovaries, due to my previously having had Cushing's disease. I spent 3 days in hospital, and about 4 weeks at home recuperating. However, during that time I also did stuff I wasn't supposed to do, like vaccuming, or schlepping laundry up and down the stairs of our 3-story townhome). Never took anything stronger than Advil.
Be careful what you wish for the most - you may get it.
