I get a text from WH telling me how sorry he is that he screwed up, that he continually disrespected me with his "choices", that he is working on this with his IC, and that he has made a "somewhat uncomfortable" bed. Great. Is this a fishing attempt for R? No, because our perspectives on life are too different. He volunteered this info. I didn't ask.
What, WH? Why bother?
I wish I had a cool name for him, like Stretch or ex-shat....

(((roughroadahead)))
I am sorry you are frustrated? hurt? that your WH has apologized and it doesn't resonate.
I actually rolled my eyes at the "somewhat uncomfortable" bed... REALLY? doesn't sound too much like remorse does it?
I would gladly give you the "cool" nickname Stretch, but ex-idiot earned it. And I surely think if he knew about it, cool isn't the word he'd come up with!
The nickname was a way to depersonalize him in the same way that his cheating and accusations and blameshifting made me feel.
I feel confident that if it is important to you, a "cool nickname" based on his behaviors will fairly leap to mind.

I'm not hurt. Maybe frustrated. He's not remorseful. I am fairly confident that he is not NPD, but he is emotionally unavailable and conflict avoidant to an extreme. He is a scared little boy in a grown up body.
I laughed at the "somewhat uncomfortable" bed, I have to admit.

Let's help you come up with a cool nickname for him. I'm not as witty as some here, but I'll try to start it off...
lumpy (a lumpy bed is somewhat uncomfortable)
Bieber (because he sure thinks he's hot stuff, but there are a lot of people out there who realize what a joke he really is, though some are drawn in by the sparkles)
Dorian Gray - because he's certainly not what he's portraying to the world.

Oh, a game!! I will play.
Rather a synonym for somewhat
Somewhat but you could play with it and write it SoMeWhat, or soMEWhat, or give him a nickname out of it ... SW which brings to mind another asshat called Shit Weasel.

Let's call him "Waffle"....
...because how in the world can his self-made bed be *somewhat uncomfortable*. It's either comfortable or uncomfortable.
Jeez, road....I can't believe that you weren't just swooning over his *heart-felt* apology.

In my effort to be *concise*, I often come off as blunt and harsh. Sorry, don't mean to be offensive.

I like Waffle! It suits him perfectly, the man has never made a firm decision in his entire life. He waffled between me and MOW all last year, mostly without me realizing that's what he was doing. I also liked Dorian Gray, because I could call him that to his face and he wouldn't have a clue. Not terribly well read.
Lumpy had its appeal, but I firmly believe that is better suited to MOW than it is to him...
Thanks guys, for turning an eye roll moment into a laugh!

Princess and the Pea (or should that be Pee) in his "somewhat uncomfortable" bed.

did you tell him he made his "somewhat uncomfortable" bed, and now he'll be sleeping (without you) in it?
What an idiot. Glad you could come here for a laugh though!
Why do they think the last-ditch weak-ass attempts at R by claiming "sorry!" will work??
