I turned in my two weeks notice last Thursday from a very very good federal job...
I know it was the right thing to do though...it's still hard. I have had a job since I got a work permit at 14.
It's just this job has me going into peoples homes and helping them learn to parent. It's a LOT of helping people sort their stuff. Thing is I'm kind of overwhelmed with sorting my own stuff right now and I don't feel like I have what it takes to give my clients what they need and deserve.
So I'm going to be a SAHM for a while. A whole new world for me...any advice? I'm scared.

Holy moly! This is going to be a huge change for you...not that it is related to the "working on you" stuff, but leave your retirement fund alone. Don't pull it out.
How old are your kiddo's? Can you augment their activities now? Maybe get involved in some of their programs? I guess I would expect you to go a bit nuts if there is nothing for you to do that fills that work-related mindset. You left to work on your own stuff, and because you weren't feeling like you're helping others, so finding something that can put you in a place where you can work on yourself is the whole point of this right? The thing is, you are probably going to have to find some way to get out and do something with others, whether it is volunteering, going back to school, getting involved in some sort of group. Just make sure it is a safe thing for you and for knight.
Are you guys going to be fine financially?

We have to tighten up but will be OK financially. The worst thing will be he is an independent contractor so no insurance through his job. TCC (temporary continuation of coverage) through my job is expensive but that is the way we will go for now.
Kids are 21 (away at college), 14, and 9. I am a cub scout leader and soccer coach...although I may give up the soccer coaching because OM and his BW were also involved in soccer at a much different age level. I will go with BH's decision on that.
This is something BH has been wanting me to do for a while. He has been supportive and patient because he knew it would be hard for me.

Go Scouts! That will eat up your time...I've been involved in my sons Scouting experience for quite a while now.
Well, it's a good thing then that this is something your BH wants and supports. As long as you do these things together, you should make it through okay. That is something that my BW have noticed, is that when we are both on the same plan, we have better results. Seems pretty obvious, but not always something we realized in the past.

Good for you for being proactive in making good decisions for you and your family.
Change is not always easy. Take this time to recharge, re-prioritize and try to enjoy it!
DS, you are forever in my heart. Thank you for sharing your beautiful spirit with me. I will always try to live by the example you have set. I love you and miss you every day and am sorry you had to go so soon, it just doesn't seem fair.

No advice but lots of support!!!
I am absolutely jealous!! Being at home more with my kiddos is something I desperately want. Really never aligned with my fWH's goals though. So take in every moment of it and treasure it!! There are so many who never get that chance. And those kiddos just grow up SO FAST!!!

BH and I are really looking forward to it even though I still have that roller coaster drop feeling about it.
He had EMDR an hour and forty five minutes away today. Those sessions leave him exhausted then he has a looooong drive home. It will be nice to be available to drive him soon.

9 more days of gainful employment....
9 more days until I have time to go to everything that happens at my kids school no matter how much time I've missed for IC...
Still scared.
