Monday just isn't a good follow up to these back to back events. We need to create a holiday today. Who's with me? What should we celebrate?

Tuesday Eve!

We can celebrate that we are 4 days from SPF.

Historical Events occurring on May 6th (keeping politics out of the mix...)

1833 - John Deere makes 1st steel plow

1851 - Dr John Gorrie patents a "refrigeration machine"

1889 - Universal Exposition opens in Paris, Eiffel Tower completed

2004 - The series finale of the sitcom Friends airs

Hmm, slim pickins....

Ah well, happy Tractor/Fridge/Tour Eiffel/Friends day, everyone!

MovingUpward posted 5/6/2013 11:45 AM

Well we can celebrate with fresh produce (tractor), cold wine (fridge and french), and hanging out with friend in turkey eating pants.

How about Sit-on-the-couch-editing-photos-and-watching-star-wars-marathon-in-jammies-order-takeout-for-dinner Day?

Cuz that's about all anyone's getting out of me today.

We had Star Wars Day on Saturday, Cinco De Mayo yesterday so, according to George Takei, today is Revenge of the Sixth.

I'm celebrating "sign your paycheck over to the grocery store" day.

So much fun feeding two teenagers.

MovingUpward posted 5/6/2013 19:56 PM

Let me know when it is sign your paycheck over to Moo day.

nowiknow23 posted 5/6/2013 20:05 PM

You'll be standing in line quite a while for that, Moo.

Where were you guys?? I had a reception for 500 people in celebration of May 6th. It was at the aquarium and we had a Mountie--where were you???

MovingUpward posted 5/7/2013 08:07 AM

Where were we? Well I just found out last night after it happened.

I can't believe that you forgot to invite us all.

May 4th - Haymarket Square riot in Chicago, and in 1915 the start of the May 4th Movement, which gave us folks like Hu Shih, Lao She, and Mao Tse-tung.
