Apparently my love for a good deal overtook my good sense this week. World Market was having a wine sale. I found a bottle that was originally $9, marked down to $1.50. I bought it.

And so tonight, I am drinking moscato rose from a screw top bottle. It doesn't get much classier than this folks!

Is the angel food cake any good? I love their red velvet but have tried a few others and was not impressed.

I haven't tried it yet, Ama. I was looking for Skinny Girl Moscato but they didn't have any. It was my favorite supermarket, and it's closing But the wine and beer were on sale, so that moderated my sadness.

I'll let you know. I like the Red Velvet too. This is my first other flavor that I'm trying.

Sad, the others I've tried all had "normal" wine names. None are worth bothering with, IMO.

Awe, Cupcake Chard used to be my go to wine to convert non wine drinkers. I've been pretty successful with it Might not be for a refined palate, but I think it’s a pretty good value.

I'm drowning my sadness of not going to St. Louis. Looking around here for something to drink.... I have a bottle of wine I got for $3.. I'll open that this can be the night for 'Sale Wines'.

I miss my New Mexico wines. St. Clair Nebbiolo was fabulous. I have to try a Texas winery one of these days.

Well, Angel Food Cake, not so cake-like I discovered a bottle of St. Clair Gewurtztraminer in the vegetable crisper, though. I also found out why the rabbit cork screw was only $5 in Target

I've got a bottle of Barefoot moscato, and leftover chocolate cake. And phone numbers for at least a couple of people at the St Louis g2g. now, how much trouble can I cause?...

Ama, if you have a Trader Joe's nearby, try the Sparkling Moscato--it's really good for summer!

I do indeed have TJs. Love that place.

Moscato is one of the only sweet wines I actually like. I'm usually all about the dark, dry reds.

I love reds; I used to be a cab lover, but since I discovered the New Mexico Nebbiolo, I'm on a quest for slightly sweet, spicy reds. Really good (read-expensive) zinfandels work but who can afford them on a regular basis? I do buy on sale at World Market, though.

I'll take chianti over almost anything.

Have you ever tried Seven Deadly Zins? It's not bad for the price point and the fact that it's a novelty wine. TJs used to sell it, I know Costco does too. I've see it at World Market but overpriced.

You might want to try the nero d'avola at Trader Joe's, SiA. Not really sweet at all, but spicy. I generally prefer white, and sweet, but the nero d'avola is a red I really like.
