They are both dead btw.

Since Tred posted about ghosts, I thought I would throw this one out there.

I have only told my Mom and sister about it.

Before DS graduated, I was super stressed. I think I posted about it.

The night before everyone converged on my house, I had a dream.

My Grandmother was in it, she was seated and smiling, their (ie Gramma and Granpa's) phone rang on the wall. A beige rotary phone, remember those?

My Grandmother nodded and I answered the phone. It was very staticky and I heard a mumbled voice in the static. I kept saying I can't understand what you are saying. The staticky mumbled voice kept talking.

I knew it was my Grandfather on the phone.

The voice on the phone then shouted very clearly, I Love You and then the line went dead.

I looked at my Grandmother and she kept smiling. I asked her if that was Granpa? And she nodded.

Then I woke up.

My Grandfather never said "I Love You", it was implied, you knew, you just knew.

I have had dreams with my Grandmother in them, I don't remember my Grandfather being n a dream.

I felt less stressed the next day.

I felt they came to me when I needed them.

What do you think?

That's nice!

I completely believe you were visited

You were visited, and it was a good visit.

You are loved, don't forget that.

They knew you needed comfort and visited you to bring it to you. Lovely story.

ima.. here we go.
Shortly after my grandmother died I was just drifting off into sleep and had a very lucid dream. I picked up a ringing old rotary phone and she was there. Her voice was far away but I could hear her and she said goodbye and that she loved me. She told me she was safe and it was ok to be sad but not to worry about her.

And I will add to it..
I also had the most real and literally haunting dream of my life a few years ago. My best friend from high school passed very young. She came to me and I was SO MAD AT HER. I kept saying "I thought you were dead!! Why would you do that to me!?!. She called me silly, and said she was dead but did I really think she wouldn't come see me. She hugged me, and she was warm and soft and smelled like her perfume. I've never smelled anything in a dream before or felt it's warmth. It was so real. And she sat with me while I cried and cried and told her how much I missed her. She hugged me and stroked my hair and I could SMELL HER. And I woke up knowing she was ok but so desperately sad. Even typing it now makes me cry. I know it was her.

I've had a couple of phone dreams involving my mum since she passed away

It's comforting.

I was in the shower one morning and I kept hearing Mama calling my name. About an hour later, Daddy called and told us that Mama had died a couple hours before.

Thank you for the reassurances that I am not crazy or imagining things.

Weird about the similarities with phones.

FaithFool, I remember when your Mom passed, hope she continues to call, she looked like an awesome lady.

Meta, I can sometimes smell my Grandmother, or their house, now that I think about it I have smelled my Grandfather too!

I hope they don't leave me.

My Grandpa used to smoke Captain Black Cherry pipe tobacco. Every few years I catch a whiff of it and it's like I'm 6 again. It's such a nice smell to me

IAGW, do you remember me mentioning smelling burnt toast when I was holed up in the motel while my condo was being fixed?

It was November, a couple of days after she passed away.

It was evening. She used to have one of those ancient toasters with the sides that pulled down, we called it the "burnomatic".

Mom, toast, smoke alarms.

When I smelled that I knew she was around. The next day I was out in the park sitting on a bench out of the wind and a rufus hummingbird stopped by for a visit. It hung around for a long time.

She was all about the hummers, went out in all kinds of nasty weather to make sure they got fed.

God love her.
