I have a soon-to-be H.S. senior who wants to visit college campuses this summer. I'm okay with that. However, thanks to the military we live in the SE and she is looking at schools in the Northeast.

I have made the drive more than a few times, but this go-round I have such a limited amount of travel time and will have to meet/accommodate fixed times (like scheduled interviews on campuses) that I feel a bit overwhelmed & anxious.

I've used various mapping sites & the like over the years, but what I'm hoping to find is something where I can input where I have to stop for interviews, roughly how many miles (or hours?) I'm willing to drive in a day, and what's the most efficient itinerary to do so. Without me having to make the squirrels in my head run any faster!

Has anyone used something that can do this sort of thing? My preferred way of traveling is low-stress ....where we don't "HAVE" to be anywhere by a certain date/time.

If you have a smart phone, there's an app called Waze that might help. It has real-time traffic, accident, hazard and police reports. Check it out and good luck!

Do you have AAA? I love their Triptik feature. You can create one online through their site or go in and they bind it into a little book with you and it has everything you can think of including speed traps, rest stops and construction areas. Great for a road trip!
