Trying to get hired at basically anywhere right now. I have received a response back to schedule an interview but the way the site is set up, I have watch for any interview dates that are available and so far they don't have any posted. When I called regarding the dates (or lack thereof) the manager told me they sometimes schedule interviews 3 weeks in advance and to just keep checking everyday.

It's not a job that I'm dying to get but beggers can't be choosers and I'll take anything right now. I've applied everywhere the past two weeks so hopefully I'll hear something positive.

Prayers, mojo, thoughts and good vibes are appreciated.

This was my strategy for getting out of my old (miserable)job. I told a big fat lie and was able to get a leave of absence. I am someone who does not like to up and quit, so I thought if I couldn't find a job I could always go back to Hell... er, I mean *shitty cable company tech support*.

So I got my LOA, and went straight to a temp agency where they almost immediately gave me a temp job making quite a bit more. I knew this job would not be for more than a month, and they were not hiring on.

So the entire month I have put out one application after another when by the grace of God (and my hard damn work :P) I managed to snag a job that 1) pays considerably more 2) has amazing benefits and 3) able to advance.

Now to be fair, I live in a city that is known for having a very good economy. So that was an advantage.

Careerbuilder was my BFF.

By the way, a few people at work said they get calls all the time from prospective employers when they put their resume on Monster.

Good luck!!!

Thanks everyone! Keep it coming.

Dark: I've had luck in the past with Monster but lately they don't have as much stuff listed as Indeed and a few others and when I've looked, I've looked at stuff outside my field just in case there's a nugget hiding somewhere else. In the past whenever I've quit a place I had something else already lined up so I wouldn't be out some dough. Use my vacay at the old job to work at the new place for my last 2 weeks, etc.

Usually I have a back up plan but some stuff didn't happen and well, here I am starting from the bottom up but that's okay as long as I can get my foot in the door!
