http://jenhatmaker.com/blog/2013/05/30/worst-end-of-school-year-mom-ever

This actually made me laugh until my cheeks hurt. Only the Ben Franklin costume and All About Me poster looked like what I would help churn out in October

I packed ds a lunchable 3 times last week and sighed a little at how easy it was to pull it out of the fridge and pop it into the lunch box. I signed the at home reading log for the last 13 days in one night this week, and sent my high school dd with money for Dairy Queen rather than a home packed lunch TWICE this week.

Guilty of being a sucky end of school year mom and PROUD

Go softly my sweet friend. You will always be a part of who I am.

Praise Jesus! As a school employee, I'm nearing the end, too! And with my oldest graduating from high school, that's also a beginning...

Tune out the noise of what others tell you about who you are and work it out for yourself...

I'll be so happy to not pack lunches any more. We don't buy school lunches at all so that's 180 lunches times 2 = 1 tired Mama

How's that for math?

"No, we don’t have to read tonight.”

“YES WE DO!!! MRS. BURKE SAID!!! WE HAAAAVE TO!!!”

“We already read.”

“NO WE DIDN’T!!! YOU ARE FAKING ME, MOM?”

“When I talk to you during the day, that’s like reading. You have to listen to the words I am saying and then make sense of them. It’s really hard work for you. It’s called auditory reading. We’ve been practicing all day. I’ll write the minutes down in your log.”

Love it!!!

Done with school as of Thursday. So glad I no longer have to keep the fridge constantly stocked with sandwich fixings, fruit, AND veggies. All at the same time!!!

Even though I don't have kids in school, I still love the end of the school year--it means SUMMER!!

The six year old is done for the year- her school ended before Memorial Day, thank God.

School ended here in AK May 24, while I've enjoyed doing kindergarten all over again I was never so glad for it to end too.

PS for those that don't know; I've been raising Savannah and Jameson this past year.

ETA: correction we have been.

School ends here on June27th

This quote from that link sums up how I feel tonight..

The emails coming in for All Of The Things – class gift, end of year letters, luncheon signup, party supplies, awards ceremonies, pictures for the slide shows, final projects – are like a tsunami of doom. They are endless. I mean, they will never ever end. There is no end of it. I will never finish and turn it all in and get it to the (correct) Room Mom and get it all emailed and I am pretty sure the final week of school will never be over and this is the end for me.

The.end.of.me.

Go softly my sweet friend. You will always be a part of who I am.
