Can anyone recommend some good books on parenting? Looks like I'm going to be a single father to a 12 year old girl and 10 year old boy. I need some help.
They are going to spend the summer with their grandmother so I have some time.

No matter what "new" information you find out, it's all just part of the same iceberg, hidden under the surface.

A while back, I went to the library and took out a bunch of books with the subject of single parenting. I don't remember the titles, but maybe a librarian at your local library can suggest some books.

Any specific concerns? TG and I having raised 3 boys past 18 I know that one of the biggest thing for us was being consistent.

Just wanted to add, that the fact that you want to read up on single parenting shows how much you care. Love, support, and being there for them goes a long way. Sounds like they already have that from you.

I know the title says Adult Children. But having read it, I think so many parents would avoid these Adult Child issues if they set some boundaries with their children when they were young. Start by just saying NO occasionally. Children need to hear NO and parents need more practice saying it. Pick times when it's a no-brainer to say NO. Then stick with it. It gets easier.

This is the Boundaries book I recommended earlier.

This is the Boundaries for kids book by the same authors. They are great authors.
