Our 2yr cat is always so mushy and sweet. This morning she was hiding and then howled when I touched her. She is stuffy, so sad looking, and not eating/drinking.

Thankfully, our vet is open on Sundays and was able to see her. Kitty punctured the eye that she lost sight in when she was a kitten. They gave her eye drops and a shot of antibiotics/pain med. Hopefully, it kicks in soon. If it doesn't heal, she may need the eye removed since it has had ongoing issues.

If anyone has some "make kitty feel better and heal quickly" mojo laying around, we would appreciate it.

Oh nooooooo!!

She sounds like she is in some awful pain. I hope she feels better quickly!!

Any idea how she managed to puncture her eye?

We're sending all of our get better soon mojo!

Go softly my sweet friend. You will always be a part of who I am.

Oh, I SO hope your kitty's eye gets better soon and that her pain subsides quickly with the drops and the antibiotics. I had a Tonkinese that had a growth on one eye that had to be removed; fortunately she was easy to medicate and it healed well after surgery. Best wishes to you and your kitty - I know how worried you must be. ((Hugs))

Be careful what you wish for the most - you may get it.

The vet said that the pain med would make her drowsy all afternoon. Still, if she would wake up to eat or drink, I'd be thrilled.

Meta - The only think we can think of is that kitty was scratching her ear with back leg or grooming her back leg. Then somehow her back nails hit her bad eye. We are at a loss.

woundedwidow - I'm so sorry about your Tonkinese. They are beautiful cats. If she ends up needing surgery, I may have a few questions for you (if you don't mind).

She is so loveydovey. To see her not wanting to be pet and not giving us hugs, shows how much pain she's in.

Thank you, everyone. I appreciate it very much.

I think I figured out what punctured her eye. I looked at the inside of her carrier because I remembered that she was checking it out yesterday. It is one of those soft carriers. It has a small, thin metal rod poking out of the frame at the back of the inside. This carrier is less than a year old and rarely used. How the heck did it break?! Poor kitty.

A little better. Thank you. She gave me hugs after I gave her more pain med and she ate a little. The meds make her sleepy. Her eye is still a mess, but we will know next Monday if she needs surgery.
