Can heat stroke cause acid reflux?

Rough day yesterday. 90 degree weather. I was out in the sun/heat forr two hours at work. I hadnt worked in the heat in awhile. Or maybe I havent adjusted from the winter into the summer

By the time I got to the office, I had chills and my head felts I had ants dancing around up there

I pretty much collapsed on the sofa when I got home. I went to bed when wh arrived at 1130.

Immediately I was out again but awoke when I had a throat full of acide and couldnt breath. I spent the next hour coughing to get air.

Finally I calmed down enough to sleep but awoke freezing.

Showered in hot then wrapped myself in two blankets

Temp finally evened out this morning but I still have acid issues. Not nearlyas bad as last night but not fun.

Time to be my own bff.

My SO is very heat sensitive and has fainted from heat stoke at least 2x. Once playing football as a kid and once 2 years ago running a race. They say that once you've had heat stroke you are more sensitive to heat. Yesterday in NoCal it was in the 90s and I felt good and he didn't. He drank two cold beers w lunch. I know better to drink mid day when it's hot.

Even before the beers his stomach was upset. In the evening he had a migraine. The next day his stomach is still upset.

So I think there is a connection. Have you ever had heat stroke?

I am very sensitive to heat, I seem to get at least one episode of heat stroke a year. I typically will end up with nausea and vomiting depending on how bad it is. It's highly likely that your acid reflux is from the heat stroke.

If this happens again, take a cold shower the first chance you get. As soon as you get home, before you sit down on the couch. This will help bring your body temperature down and will minimize the effects of the heat.

Thank you everyone

Yes I had heat/sun stroke 8 to 9 yrs ago. I was sent home that day.

I should have showered when I got home. I didnt think.

I agree the acid was from heat stroke. It is pretty much under control today tho I feel a tad funky still (acidy).

I drank water. .next time I will go for the pedialite while working

Time to be my own bff.
