not from the little munchkins that leave crumbs behind.

I've gained oh about 20lbs in the last 6 months or so and I'm just now starting to notice how icky it feels to be this weight again. I liked where I was...I was comfortable.

About 4 or 5 years ago, I was diagnosed with sleep apnea and decided to try to lose weight. Well another member on here recommended to help lose weight. It worked. I lost about 25lbs. After I while, I lost interest in the site, but maintained my weight loss and then due to medical issues and stress I lost 20 more lbs without trying.

Now, I've decided to give sparkpeople a try again since it worked last time. Well, I'm in day 3 of playing around with it and UGH...its torture.

I just had some green beans and black beans for dinner. Exciting.

Anyway, thought I'd give it a try again and get back to where I want to be and wanted to recommend the site to anyone else who is looking for something they haven't tried.

Edited to add: you can also track your fitness goals, etc. Its got so much stuff on there in regards to almost anything to do with health.

I've been using to track food... haven't lost an ounce.

ok jrc, thanks for the reminder. I just wanted to share the sparkpeople tracker because it actually worked for me before. and I don't believe it "diets" so this seemed to work well for me. I can still eat what I want, but I just need to track it so I don't "over eat".

Click since i've been seeing my nutrionist ive lost about 10#'s in counting...i also learned that i have to eat every 3 hrs, i'm finally sticking to the plan..... I eat breakfast around 7, a mini meal @10 then lunch @1pm then another mini meal @4... Dinner at 6:30-7 and snack if i want.....

I loved myfitnesspal to help me lose weight. It was an eye opener to me to see how much I was actually putting in my mouth. In order to be super accurate I have a food scale that I use for measuring out portions.

Sparkpeople was pretty good for me as well, but MFP seemed to be a better fit.

I use the Lose It app. In 2 and a half months I've lost 26.6 pounds. But I do go to the gym 6 days a week and run 10 miles in the week (and it will be going up each week). And I lift. I track my food and exercise on lose it. And I also track my miles on

Okay, clicky. You made me go back to Sparkpeople and take a look around. I hadn't been there since about 2009.

It's changed. I like it. I updated my information and set a new goal. I'm tracking my food and my walks, which I'd just started doing again after a debilitating injury this past spring.

I tracked my food all of yesterday and ended up wandering the house last night trying to find 600 calories to consume. I settled on a gin and tonic, a few slices of pepperoni, and a whack of cheese while Mr. T and I watched reruns of Red Dwarf. That seems to happen every time I track. Years ago when I was on Weight Watchers, I'd be up at midnight trying to find four more points. It's maddening, but effective. If I'm this conscious of what I'm eating, I'm eating less. I've always eaten healthier foods, which is why the calorie count is so low and I have leftovers to make up for. Portion control has been my boogeyman.

I've tried both Sparkpeople and MyFitnessPal in recent months.
My personal preference is MyFitnessPal for tracking food and exercise, but I like the boards on SparkPeople better.

lmao crack me up. I have yet had the chance to look around for more calories to consume as I'm always near my mark. I agree the site has changed quite a bit and there is SO much to read. But I do like it...just trying to still get a handle on it. I'll PM ya.

Gaby - I have looked up fitness pal for calories on foods and it too seems like a pretty good site.
