So.....I was browsing the dating website doing a search...and had narrowed down the type of person I was looking for and up pops Piper's sperm donor, WHO should NOT have popped up in my search by the way I narrowed down my search!!!

So....apparently...he is telling women that he has a degree (taking a few classes over a decade ago at a community college and never graduating doesn't constitute grounds for a degree), he is an "entrepreneur" who makes between $50,000 and $75,000 a year! Wow...he makes more than me now! Interesting...since he told child support enforcement that he can only afford the bare minimum of $65 a month because he is unemployed and living off ramen noodles..

He said, "No way" to being a smoker... (and yet smokes like a freight train when he drinks) and put "social drinker" in the "Do you drink" section and he is a serious binge-drinking alcoholic who should not drink at all his problem is so bad..... And then, in the section that says, "Do you have kids" he says "I'll tell you later!" He has THREE. Nice.

And, THIS is another thing that scares me about online dating.... the ones that bold-face lie about who they are to impress people.... scary... just scary!

Hmmm....I wonder if child support enforcement would be interested to hear about his new found fortune!

This is why we say that people unfold. A profile, emails, even a the early phone calls and dates can only tell you so much about a person. One writer I love phrased it that with the early stages of dating (not just online dating, any dating), you don't meet the person, you meet the representative who they send (i.e. their best version of themselves).

It takes time to get to know someone. Time to verify that they are who they claim (and often aspire) to be. That they are good for you, and that you are good for them.

This is why we work so hard not to get emotionally invested in someone early on, until we've given them a chance to unfold. This is why we are careful to diversify our sources of emotional stability, "grown up time", affirmation, rather than seeking it in a single person who we don't know yet. This is why dating takes time, patience, and a thick skin, and why it's vital to be in a healthy place before you embark on the journey.

But then you knew that.

Oh yeah....I truly pity any girl that falls in his web! EEK! I think its funny in his "bio" that he says that he will not tolerate dishonesty... man!!! Who's callin the kettle black!!!??

Obviously this would never work and people would use it to get back at exes, but wouldn't it be nice if there was a section where you could leave reviews on that person.

Yes... and he would delete his account faster than a roadrunner on crack!

Most of the sites do have a way to report people, but to the site, not other users.

Well, I might be talking with my case worker at Social Services about his profile. She might find his information somewhat interesting.

Dating is when you need all your other friends and relationships the most so you don't fall for crap like this because you are lonely and needy.

I would absolutely take screen shots of that and show them to CSE. I was chatting with a nurse in my doctor's office about divorce and child support, etc., and she told me about something that happened to her and her husband and his ex-wife. Apparently the nurse and her husband run a business on the side selling health products, and they had sent an email to his son telling him that they were making like $100,000 a year and were hoping that he would join in. Well they were only making like $50,000 a year; and even though they supplied their tax forms, etc., to prove that they were making only $50,000 from the business, the judge used that email they sent and based the child support off the $100,000 they said they made.

Perhaps nothing will come of it, but I would definitely give it a shot..

Oh, and what a lying POS. FTG..

Isn't that exactly what I warned about?

Well, and honestly, those kinda things would throw red flags up to me. "I'll tell you later" on kids is really...fishy. Plus, if a guys need to TELL me that he is "honest" and a "good guy"...then he probably isn't.

I generally would just skip right over a profile like that.

When I read this kind of stuff, it just amazes me that the one and only gal I reached out to on Match.com is my SO of almost 9 months.

She was pretty in her pics, but far prettier in person. She is very nice and thoughtful.

The only bad thing is that the primary reason I reached out to was her pic with two dogs.

One of the two dogs is mean, mean mean! I am a huge dog lover but can't stand her Jack Russell.

She didn't say anything about that in her profile.

Shame on her!

Shelly, that is pretty pitiful about your STBX. It would be funny to set up a phony profile and set him up with a fake date or something.

Am I bad or what!
