Divorce/Separation :
Stbxwh is a negligent dipshit!

So I'm out of state for the summer with the kids visiting family. Before we left, I asked STBX to cancel our direct TV as I didn't want it anymore and it was in his name. He did cancel it send I asked where/how I could return the receivers. He said "don't worry, I'll take care of it. They are sending me boxes to shop them".

Now he has always been negligent so I was not surprised today when I got a $430 bill from them indicating that he hasn't returned the receivers. I should add that he moved out months ago and is living with OW. He had his mail forwarded, but I think this bill was forwarded to me as it is in his middle name (which he goes by) but not his legal first name.

I texted him to let him know about the bill and that I would not be paying it. My question is, can I still be held responsible for this if it's in his name? When I get home, I will ship them back regardless, but that won't be for over a month.

This is just one more reason I'm happy to be divorcing him. I'm so tired of how childish and irresponsible he is!

If the bill is only in his name then you aren't responsible.

I think...therefore, I'm single.

It is what it is.

I find this interesting. I will assume you always took care of everything home-related; everything but him working at his job. I know how that goes. It was just easier to do it myself, get it done, taken care of, off my mental list, than to ask several times for him to do it and still end up eventually handling it myself. I sometimes wonder whether, now that he and bimbo are living in fantasyland, all of a sudden he is handling all the 'everything else' stuff or whether lazy-rear bimbo (who, per her BS, never had an interest in handling much of anything & screwed it up when she did), is now shouldering the responsibility. I said to xh a number of times, "I am not your mother." He liked it - and said so often - that 'you take such good care of me.' I wish I had stopped 'taking care of him' long, long ago. It would have saved a lot of heartache and/or given me a lot more free time so much sooner.

EXACTLY Lifeisbroken!

Yes, I took care of everything. He is a man child. He's very successful in his career, but nothing else. I could never rely on him to take care of anything.

He and OW have been charging up credit cards like crazy. I get the feeling that she's just as irresponsible as he is. I can't wait for the creditors to come after them! I'm so happy to be free of him and his BS.
