Despite the fact we all three work for Great Southwest Health Science Center the three of us have never run into each other after the weeks surrounding D-day. I personally run into OW about once a month or two the last time being at the grocery store after FWS surgery. I do not know how often fWS has run into her. The bitch has pretty much turned into "she who must not be named."
Anyway, this is fWS last week at the HSC before leaving to work for the competition: Ginormous Religious Hospital. Since fWS is non weight bearing on a scooter I was helping her move out of her office with a dolly. And who do I literally slam my dolly in taking a corner too fast?!? You guessed it ... The ho-worker OW. Who refused to look up at us and just scurried away. I was too stunned to speak and fWS was having trouble finishing her story she had been telling me.
When we got out to the car she said "I'm very sorry." " For what?"I said. You see my healing has advanced far enough I was already planning our errand running strategy for the day. "For you having to see OW." "We'll thanks." I said "but I'd already forgotten all about her!"
Major victory for us. For me. AND they won't be working within miles of each other.
And SHE looked old and awful. I guess guilt and shame can really age a person! Ha!
Here's to the future!!!
