My date texted me the following sweet thoughtful text!

"Hey Shelly...I hope you are having a great day! I am looking forward to seeing you tonight!"

::insert my stupid grin::

Is it silly how excited I am??

said with all kinds of sympathy and from experience of giddy teenager like feelings...lower your expectations, Sweetie!

Have a nice time, enjoy yourself, don't expect this one to be "the" one.

Notice how high you get from even the smallest amount of attention and do your best to keep yourself in observation mode. Ie.. notice the thrill but dont get lost in it, dont let it become an attention-addiction. Have fun, keep expectations to a dull roar and maintain a wide perspective.

No...no expectations here! Its just nice to get a little bit of attention for once. I'm totally going into this as just a nice dinner out! Nothing more, nothing less!

It will be so nice to not have to entertain my daughter the whole time and wear half of HER food by the end of the meal! I haven't gone to a restaurant WITHOUT her....GOSH.... I honestly can't remember!!!

Have fun Shelly. Agree with another poster to lower your expectations to increase your chances that you will have a good experience.

It is nice having those positive hopes and I sure hope it all goes well for you.

Maybe you should go run 10 miles beforehand to take a little of the edge off!

Man!! If I could I would!!! I get off work and barely have enough time to pick up the sitter, my daughter, and get home and freshen up before meeting him!! EEK!
