Off work until the 17th. What the days are looking like:

8:00 am-ish: wake up

8:00 to 10:00: toast, coffee, book, net time

10:00 to 1:30: bike to beach, lie around, eat grapes, ride back

1:30 to 4:30: lunch, book, net time, nap

4:30 to 5:30-ish: tea and biscuits, think about what to have for dinner

5:30 to 6:30: cocktails on the favourite bench at the spectacular terraced garden park overlooking the water/mountains/treetops, talk to crows and hummingbirds

6:30 to 7:00: dinner

7:00 to 8:30: bike to other beach, sit on sea wall admiring crashing waves and stunning view

8:30 to 10:30: cocktails, TV, book, net time

10:30: shower and bed

Might mix it up a bit. Going to the mainland Saturday for a birthday party, staying in a luxe airport hotel, then home Sunday for another week of more of the above if this weather continues.

Oh, almost forgot to add the part of the gardens that has a shady grove chock full of gorgeous butterflies that dance in spirals.

It's like Disney World, Bambis lurking in the bushes and everything....

Spectacular day!

Was late to the basking beach, it was chock full of peeps, so had to opt for basking spot #2, a rocky point where people have parked some wooden deck chairs and nobody steals them (!).

It's got a chilly breeze, which is nice for a change, and a great view. The selfie turned out a bit blurry (totally suck at taking those) but the rest are OK.

I'm pooped, had my two rides already today (had to go downtown for errands this morning).

Time for cocktails....

I like YOUR staycation, FF. Mine has consisted of deep-down housecleaning all freaking week. I'm quitting tomorrow and heading to The County for a long weekend, though. I can already taste lunch at The Inn on the Mountain.

Great photos!

Oh God, I left the housecleaning as long as I could! I'm an artist so I'd much rather paint than dust. However, it gets to a point............

I know, NIK, the pace is relentless.

Last night I had to haul the folding chair down to the park for the Beatles cover band.

Found a sunbeam, parked myself and enjoyed my after-dinner cocktail while the band played spot-on renditions of the old stuff.

The crowd was having a ball -- kids, dogs, seniors, everything from strollers to bikes to wheelchairs.

As they were wrapping up the set I wandered out toward the exit, and wound up standing beside a guy about my height wearing silver biking shoes... I know, odd, right?

So I do a sideways glance from under my hat and think "nobody told me George Clooney was in town for the 4th...".

Well I didn't get a look at him from the front, but from the side with the rays of the setting sun behind him it was kind of like one of the moments in the Simpsons when someone sees God.

I kept waiting for an SO to pop out of the woods on her way back from the washrooms, but no, he just kept standing there and the band was rocking "Sweet Caroline" at that point, and they were really nailing it, everyone was having a great time.

Then we both wandered toward the gate and I had a feeling he was going to say something, and I wasn't about to say something because I was still waiting for the SO to pop out of the woods and ruin the moment.

Didn't happen.

I should have said something like "nice shoes" so I could have gotten a look at him to see if the front was as Clooney as the side view.

*sigh*
