Since it's physically impossible for me to lose enough weight to make a big difference on my wedding day, do you have any ideas about what kind of undergarment I could wear to make me look less large? The dress I like has a fitted top and chiffon on the bottom . The top isn't skin tight in a slinky kind of way (that would give people nightmares!
)but is is "fitted". I have a couple of Spanx products, one medium strength, the other heavy duty. They are good as body smoothers, but don't create a defined waistline. Any suggestions about what I can use?
Thanks for your help.

Your best bet is something with boning. A corset, for example.
You can call me NIK

Corset or "waist cincher". They sell these at mainstream department stores, no need to go into a lingerie store or speciality store.

Good ideas -- thanks. I'll go this week and see just how much I can get cinched.

First of all, I bet you look beautiful. We are our own worst critics - especially when it comes to our bodies.
Second, try a corset (with boning), but it will be painful.
Bug again, I bet you look beautiful!!

Corsets aren't actually painful if they are well made and properly fitted. I used to do Ren Faires and only the cheap ones are uncomfortable. You should adjust to a good quality corset in about 10 minutes and feel fine. Added bonus: awesome posture, which also helps with slimming
