It's the remains of an ore dock.

It's an old iron ore dock. Most likely over 100 years old and being torn down in the name of "progress"

FF, that song always gives me chills too. Edmund Fitzgerald's last port was Superior, WI. This pic isn't from Superior, but Ashland - about 80 miles east of Superior.

Nice pics. Reminds me of Lake Erie (Used to live in Toledo)
I have the song about the FitzGerald. Bit of trivia about that song. The radio stations along the lake will NOT play that song. Too many family members still in the area.
