Who wants to hang out??

I've got the evening of Saturday, August 24 booked for SI. Someone local will have to help pick a place (unless anyone else steps up, Tesla will be voluntold to help).

I've also got some flexibility the following days: Aug 25 - 29 for lunches, dinners, architecture cruises, trips to the zoo/aquarium, etc. (And am open to suggestions on what to see since I'm playing solo tourist for a week.)

Interested:

Tesla

NIK

Ama

sissoon (maybe?) & Wife

We're probable.

A suggestion - Sun Wa (http://sunwahbbq.com/) in the 5000 block of Broadway for 'Roast/Beijing Duck 3 ways'. We'd need to make reservations. (It's not quite Beijing, but it's the best duck I've had in the US. Alas, the soup is lacking.) It's just a suggestion, BTW; we're flexible, and we might not make it anyway....

Sisoon, if another day is better for you (during the week) I am pretty flexible.

Two recommendations, same venue. Uptown Poetry Slam on at 7 p.m. Sunday. Or 9 p.m. Wednesday for their gypsy jazz show, which is outstanding. I can't promise to attend either at the moment, but if you like poetry or jazz, you should check out the Green Mill.

Dagnabit.

That's a crazy weekend for me - golf tourney on Saturday; two fund raisers on Sunday - you should come 90 miles north and hang with me!

Have a great time!

Definitely do the river architecture cruise. Also check out Milennium Park; you can go online and see what's going on that week.

Super hard to, otherwise I would (work schedule, train schedule, blah, blah, blah).

A weekend day would be much better and it stinks because I normally don't have things going on both days. This particular weekend is the exception.

Sigh.

The evening of 8/21 is tough for us. Our son, DIL, and GS may be visiting that week, but their plans are still up in the air - if it's an evening thing, our GS will be sleeping, now that I think about it.....

We're basically retired, so we can be flexible to accommodate folks who have specific time commitments.

Sun Wa's roast duck is special, but Chicago pizza is, too. Just sayin'....

IIRC, you'll be here for a week. Another suggestion for you is B.L.U.E.S. on Halsted for great blues.

Ama, I would be interested in meeting on Aug 24th as I normally do a month long celebration for my birthday.

I live in Chicago so whereever you are staying, if in the city will be no problem for me.

The Architecture cruise is one that I do every year as I love it! Was going to try the Kayaking tour on the river this year as well.

I am rambling, but I would love to hook up!

Word of advice: don't laugh on the architecture cruise. You'll be scolded.

Make them take you to Geno's, Ama. For reals. Oh! There is also this place that makes inside out pizza. Damn, I cannot recall the name. So good.
