We moved overseas a couple months ago and are still in the process of getting settled and buying things we need for the house, plus our daughter's birthday is in two days so gifts were just purchased, and we need to go school shopping, too. Today my H was looking at Bookoo (it's like Craigslist) and saw a weight bench/weights for sale. He asked me if I was okay with him getting one and I am, but not right now. We have other places that our money needs to go. I explained our budget and the things we still need to pay for. A half hour later he tells me he talked to the seller, he's going to buy it tomorrow, and set it up in the basement. WTF? Is he a complete idiot? Wait, don't answer that. I'm almost hoping he'll drop something really heavy on himself while using the damn thing. Nope, not almost hoping. Definitely hoping.

Swap "weight bench" for "upgraded vespa parts" here.

I don't hope anyone gets hurt, but I do hope today's lottery ticket pans out.

Wait...you talk about not buying it right now and he goes ahead and buys it anyway? What was the point of asking you? Just so he could say he did? And why did he totally disregard what you had to say?

2012 was a bitch...but I'm hopeful about 2013.

Yes we talked about it, but apparently he just doesn't give a shit or is really freaking stupid and decided to go for it anyway. He doesn't respect me, a fact he proves over and over again. I cannot wait to finish my degree and get the hell out of here.

Apart from the affair, my xh blew our money our entire marriage and during our separation. He blew through 15k in 6 weeks. My attorney told me that women who were divorced from men like this ended up much better after the divorce.

Only children don't know the value of patience and waiting until you have the money to buy something that is unnecessary. Adults who don't have self control seem to also be the ones to be so selfish that they also have these affairs that destroy families.

Self control and common sense seem to be in short supply now days.
