My friends just had her first baby and I was planning to bring a couple of meals to her and her husband this weekend. I was thinking frozen meals, like casseroles, would be the easiest for them but am open to other ideas. Anyone have any good recipes or something that you would have liked after having a baby. Thanks in advance!

If you're open to the idea of purchasing a crockpot (or if they already have one), maybe prepack a week's worth of crockpot dish ingredients.
They can be stored in the freezer, then simply dumped in the crockpot in the morning for a great meal later in the day.

Anything anybody brought over was very very welcome from me! Frozen things were good. Maybe also a basket of fresh fruit?

My "go-to" dishes are homemade mac and cheese and pork chops with pineapple and yellow rice.
Both freeze really well

I had almost two weeks worth of meals brought to me. Everything from sloppy joes to pizza to breakfast casseroles. Probably my favorite was the salsa chicken. I even make it for our family now. Take some boneless, skinless chicken (I like breasts, but thighs work great too and are cheaper - you can even cook them bone in if you don't mind pulling out the bones as you shred it). Put the chicken in the crock pot and add a jar of your favorite salsa. Cook until the chicken shred easily (I used frozen chicken on low for about 6 hours). It makes great tacos and burritos.

Of the meals I was able to get to before STBX ate it all, my favorite was when the person dropped off two enormous pizzas. The food people normally brought by was so thoughtfully nutritious and lovingly prepared, but dang it that pizza wasn't exactly what I loved the most! Maybe 'cuz I was so sick during pregnancy, I dunno.

Honestly it would depend on if new mom is breast feeding. If she is you want to stick to low spice rather bland foods. If not I would make some chilli I missed my spicy food when I was preggers.
