The previous post convinced me to post about men and chest hair. It seems like most men now share their chest? Do you agree?
I have cycled for years and leg shaving has been a part of my life, but not the chest or stomach. I can get really hairy and I do manscape the area but not completely off.
Is this a new thing? Maybe just an American thing?

No - and I am a fur ball.
I did shave my legs for football many moons ago (tape and hair do not work well together). I cycle but do I not race. If there is some extra drag from the hair on my legs I'll just count that as some extra exercise

My wxh was extremely hairy. The only time he shaved his chest hair was during the affair.
The next man was hairier, if that's possible.
He didn't shave anything.
Everyone since then have had very little body hair.
But to answer your question: none of them have shaved.

My exBF did a little manscaping (some trimming) but otherwise no. He wasn't very hairy though.
exWH didnt shave his chest or manscape. I wish he at least manscapped and suggested he do a little... grooming. He did not.
One guy I dated did shave his chest (he was pretty hairy). I don't think it's that prevalent but not uncommon.

Coming of age in the 70s, it was all about body hair. No shaved chests or anything else for me.

I think it's more popular in guys around my age and especially younger. My boyfriend before WH was tall, lanky, and hairless (we were also 16 so I'm sure that had something to do with it). It must have scarred me for life because he was a giant douchebag and since then I've always preferred a more lumberjack look. I just equate facial and body hair with man.

I have dated a few men who did.
No one changes unless they want to. Not if you beg them. Not if you shame them. Not if you use reason, emotion, or tough love. There is only one thing that makes someone change: their own realization that they need to.

I wanted to ad that I like my men with hair (I'm in my mid 30's). I do like it when things are trimmed and neat (all body hair) but I like masculine traits in men including body hair.

Personally, I don't "get" the hairless man. Like Sad, coming of age in the '70's it was all about the hair. (Hence the musical Hair!)
Growing up in an Irish/Italian New York neighborhood all the men I saw growing up were pretty hairy, too. I thought that was part of being a man, having a hairy chest. I don't mean I require a hairy chest on a man, but it just seems very manly to me.
No, my husband doesn't shave his chest. I don't believe any of his buddies do either. I do know that in my DS27's age group it is very common.

My H does not shave his chest nor has he ever. We started dating when he was 16. He had no hair then and now is a "furry old man". Lol.

DH doesn't, nor do I think it would ever occur to him to - he's a cyclist too by the way. Personally, can't imagine it being attractive to me. My favorite place in the world is my face laying on his chest, and if there was stubble there it'd be terrible and weird.

I don't know why FWSO would want to shave the two hairs he has on his chest...

Nothing wrong with a little trimming every now and then. Full blown shave, not my cup of tea, but after I hit 40 my back decided to get a little hairy, so yup, it gets maintained.

I hope not. I kind of like some chest hair on a guy. Not the gorillas in the mist kind of hair, but some. I don't have any experience with anyone that shaved their chest. I think it would be weird - like they were teenagers or something. But that's just my preference. To each their own. If a guy likes to shave it, then more power to him.
