I thought she was very young & naïve. I'll be interested if she's so blythe about choices when some unpleasant ones come along & she can't control which choice is made.

I thought she sounded pretty wise. I think she is saying you always have a choice on how to respond to a situation. By saying someone is your soul mate, you take away the choice and as my IC said, "whenever she hears the word soul mate, she know someone is trying to justify something wrong." By just going with a feeling (falling in luv) what do you do when you don't have those feelings anymore?
I know I am sensitive to the term soul mate. My ex found his and he said he had no choice but to follow his heart...
