WH told me about a mutual friend who has been accused of stealing from the community organization of which she is a member. We don't know any details, other than the rumor. He said, "I don't know if we should still be friends with her". I took a few deep breaths then said, "well, sometimes people we care for do stupid, morally bankrupt things and we still manage to love them". We both laughed a bit over than one and I'm having lunch with her this weekend.

I think it's a really good sign that you both could laugh a little at his statement, that shows healing
"Don't give up, the beginning is always the hardest." My Mom:)
My tolerance for stupid shit is getting less and less.

yeah, he looked kind of stricken for a minute until he saw I was smiling. Compassion and empathy are not his strong suits but maybe he's learning.
