I am taking my daughter to see CATS--again. The last time I took her, she was 8 and I painted her face like a cat. When we got to the doors, the young usher said, "Oh, you must be looking for the stage door." Made my daughter's night! I asked her today if I should paint her face on Aug. 11, and she replied, "No, I think we should draw the line at that."

She is my "Jenny Any-Dots", her cats are "Mungo Jerry" and "Rumpleteaser", and Lord knows, I have a fond "Memory" of her and her brother dancing to my old CATS LP. The girls are gonna have fun.

Sounds like fun! I saw the opening season back in 1983 at the Winter Garden on Broadway. It was very impressive. I still have an original printing of T.S. Eliots "Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats". I took our daughter to see it when she was around 9 in a tent in the Australian Outback - that was awesome as well! Have fun.

This will be my third time. Saw it the first time in London in the '80s. We know all the songs by heart, i.e., we can sing every single word! And often do, when making Christmas cookies amid copious glasses of vino!

A tent in the Outback seems like a perfect spot for CATS, Tred.

And the cute thing is, her cats live up to their names!

I've only seen the movie musical and would love to see CATS IRL on stage. Next time it comes to Houston I'm going to try and get seats. I love that show! I still get chills when I hear the song "Memory", it's just so poignant and beautiful.

Hope you enjoy the show again!

I've seen it three times as well - just loved it. My fav was Growltiger . It's funny that Memory is the only song in the play that wasn't from Old Possums Book. It was based on a song called Rhapsody on a Windy Night that was sang by Barbara Streisand.

Wouldn't be the first time I embarrassed the hell out of my kids. I tell them they embarrassed me for the first 6 years of their lives, it's my duty to embarrass them for the rest of mine!

I saw it on my 20th birthday at Fox Theater in Detroit.

Sat front row center stage... and there is no orchestra pit there...

Cat sweat landing in my lap as the did acrobatics at the front of the stage!

It was beyond awesome.

I should look and see if they're touring near me here... I bet DS would love it.

Wow... as of yesterday that's now a 25 year old memory!
