H and I were driving home from the cottage, and along one of the local country roads, I spotted this clothesline.
I thought it was one of the prettiest sights of the season. Obviously, there are a few kids living here.
I call it Summer Wash.

That is one seriously long clothesline!

Great picture, lf.

I love that!

You should print it out and frame it. Wouldn't that be cute to hang in a laundry room?

Really neat! (I must confess to wondering how on earth they get the line taut enough not to have the middle items dragging on the ground! )

I've been hanging my clothes on a line since spring. I love the way they smell when they dry outside, especially sheets.

If you look close there are two lines. One is above the one for the clothes and it supports the bottom one. Clever

Would love to have that in my Laundry room!

..my mom with 4 kids at home hung out the laundry, even in winter..

..i helped bring in the clothes, frozen stiff, on many occasions.

..if you look really closely, you will see two small metal holders that hold both upper and lower lines.

..there are 2 pulley wheels on this device and an opening on one side to insert the lines..we had one of these things, so i know!

..science lesson over.. you may all take notes if you wish!

That's a really cool picture, and one that would look great in a laundry room. You should submit it to Country Magazine; they love photos like that. My dear, late Mom hung her cloths out in the yard until she was well into her 80's, and I remember helping her when I was a kid. She got REALLY mad at me one time because I hung my Dad's "athletic supporters" on the line at the end near the alley. Heck, I was 9 and didn't even know what they were, and there was no way she was gonna explain! Thanks for providing a great picture AND a memory too!

When are you going to go get them?

Nice pic!

@ Pentup

Feel free to copy & paste the photo onto your Pictures/Document Library and have a print made.
I'm glad you enjoyed the photos.
The previous week there had been a spectacular clotheline, same house, but I didn't have my camera with me. I told H that next time we drove by, to please stop and here we are!
The nearest city has a very pretty driving route, and last August there was a beautiful field of sunflowers blooming. I hope I catch it this year!
