OMG. I didn't know the bleach or whatever it is took the protective layer off the teeth. I didn't know teeth whitening could cause pain.
I had a hyper reaction to it. I was in agony after they took it all off. It took 2 advil, 2 coats of desensitizer a flouride rince just to get me out of the dentist office. I ate sensodine toothpaste and advil for the night. Every tooth felt like it was going to jump out of my head!
White teeth are not worth that. I will never ever ever do that again. I'll live with my teeth, no matter what colour they are!

This morning I tried this:
Diluted hydrogen peroxide. I should've taken a before picture, but I think my teeth look a little whiter. I guess I'll take a pic now and do it for a few days then take a pic.
This time around, my teeth don't hurt.
I am showing this post to my 16 year old dd. She has perfect, beautiful teeth but has been bugging me to whiten them. I brush her off because honestly she already looks like Guy Smiley from Sesame Street. Whitening them would be overkill. Remember Ross and his teeth whitening in "Friends"? Yeah.. I am picturing that.
Maybe this will make her stop.
I'm also a person that normally has my fillings done without freezing...so I'm not a wuss when it comes to dental work. I never imagined whitening could cause such pain. i didn't even consider there could be a problem! There is no way for them to know if you will react or not.
I'm ok today, a couple of sensitive spots...but livable again. I'll just brush many times today with the sensodine to get them back to pain free. Last night, was not worth it. At. All. I was in tears and could barely talk. I couldn't even brush my teeth before bed last night, they were so bad. I was afraid to put the brush to them.
I'll live with my tea stains from now on, thanks!

I wouldn't brush everytime unless you are using a very soft toothbrush. In fact, I'd probably just rub it on, add a little water and swish it around your teeth.
