So today is our anniversary, and it's one of the special numbers that most people celebrate. We are putting off our celebration for a couple of weeks until the kids are in school so we can have some alone time, but today I wake up to a note on the mirror that reads

"I love you so very much. I am so grateful to have you by my side. I wouldn't be anywhere near where I am in life today if it weren't for you. You truly are my better half. Happy anniversary!"

I'm so grateful that HE is half the man he has grown to be throughout this mess, otherwise I wouldn't be here. It's a good day, with lots of good days behind and ahead.

THANK YOU for sharing that. I will be facing my 25th in just over a month and I am hoping I have as good a day as you. A gesture like that from your husband would make my heart sing. It just fired up my desire to keep feeding the cole into the "I know I can, I know I can" train engine

Thank you for all the celebrating! We aren't actually doing anything fabulous for our anniversary right now, but we are taking a belated anniversary cruise in the spring with an extended stay in Florida before the cruise. It's our "once in a lifetime" vacation with our kids before they get too old to be seen in public with us. LOL

So we'll probably just do dinner for our anniversary right now, and that's ok.... the cruise is on my bucket list, and parasailing is on his, so we'll knock out two things at once while making amazing memories to last a lifetime.

Here's to happy anniversaries for all of us in the wake of our pain, even if the happiness is fleeting or minimal because of that pain. It WILL get better, there IS life after infidelity, and we DO deserve happiness.
