I had to come to a part of my metro area where I rarely come for a job interview. I see that this was behind the courthouse where stbx and I got our marriage license. Just wanted to share.

Hugs. I hate that part. Just going through all the things that have to get done and being blindsided by a location that means something.
I've got one about the courthouse, too. The same courthouse I divorced my ex, happens to be the exact same courthouse my WH now externs for a judge. I pick him up after I leave work three or four days a week there.
I end up thinking of the trial versus WH's issues as I wait for him and it's all kinds of un-fun.
Wouldn't it be cool to be in a position where you could relocate to a better situation and never have to recross old painful paths? I think Fiji. Maybe New Zealand. We can all charter a boat or something.

I can't swing a cat in this town without hitting something of significance to our 17 year marriage.
I just have to erase all the memories and start over.
Otherwise I couldn't even get groceries or gas!
These are the things the WS doesn't think about when they are feeding their ego.

Even though nearly ExH is the one that cheated and wanted out, part of the filing process was going to get the marriage license to file with the court papers.
Now that D is soon to be real, I'm not sure if I can handle being in the area for a time after it.
I, too, feel like that part of life that's closing-M-follows me everywhere I go.
A piece of advice I got was to get our birth certificates for all of us, too, so they were current. I felt very robotic asking the clerk for that when it was his name and I can remember that I could hardly touch the papers, for they felt like hot fire.
