With my male painted bunting that is.
Well, I had had a painted bunting at my feeder for a few days, but they are rather skittish, so I set a trap.
I went to the Cornell Ornithology website and downloaded the Eastern Painted Bunting calls, set up a wireless speaker outside and played the calls from my back porch.
OMG!!!!! Within 2 minutes, he flew up to to the speaker all aquiver, and, poor thing, I'm sure he was rather disappointed with the look of his potential girlfriend. (she was rather unattractive being that she was just a silver metal box). But I'll be damned of he didn't 'try' to 'make contact'!
I got a couple of videos. Yay!
But I'm starting to feel guilty for 'teasing' the poor little guy.
Shame on me!
