So I've procrastinated , I'm going to a wedding in 2 weeks and I haven't even thought about a wedding gift. The couple has already been living together for a while and have a kid so they don't really need the typical household stuff. I don't have a lot of money to spend and am trying to stay away from the cash/gift card idea.

I found this http://www.purplecarrotkc.com/2012/03/diy-chalkboard-mugs-wine-glasses.html which seems do able but right now I'm drawing a blank as to their coffee drinking habits and I know she drinks wine but I don't know if he does. Also we typically drink wine that's on the cheaper side so would it be bad taste to buy a bottle of cheap wine to go with the glasses? I would buy more expensive wine but...I don't know anything about it and wouldn't know which one they would like. And my last question, if I were to do the wine glasses, would I make 2 (as in 1 for each of them) or 4-6 so they can use them for entertaining?

Does anyone have any other suggestions? I'm going to her house Saturday to help make decorations so I could scope out things that they don't have maybe

If there is a boutique wine shop near you check out their stock of value priced wines. They usually have some little known wines at places like that for great prices. Then no one knows what you've paid anyway, and the wine is ok.

Do y have any photos of them -- something cute or romantic is good. Get a good print made, 5X7 or 8X10, get it framed, maybe with a matte. Doesn't have to be a custom frame.

Thanks for the suggestions. I don't have a picture of them unfortunately but I think I will try to find a mysterious wine. Hopefully the people working there can help me find something they will like in my budget

I'd suggest doing only 2 glasses, so that its specific to the couple. Its more personal that way and great for a quiet evening for two.

The wine sounds great and if you wanted the glasses, I agree, just get 2 so it is special for them.

What is your budget?

I think if you know them well painting a dish would be nice. A nice set of wine glasses or a babysitting coupon and a certificate for a dinner.

If they drink wine a wine carrier for picnics. If they like a common interest some related item.

A waffle maker, Foreman grill, etc.

Night in Basket filled with fun things like candles, chocolate, etc.

Picture frames are always popular even if you don't have a photo. There is a really cute one you can order online with the couples names all over. You could also check consignment shops they usually have crystal glasses, vases, serving platters, etc... Some of my favorite gifts when I got married were inexpensive. I really loved a decorative trivet.

How about a nice bottle of champagne and two champagne flutes....put it into a basket, along with a few "goodies" (food or for couples fun) and give it to them as a "honeymoon basket"..
My daughter and her husband were given one by a family member and it had an assortment of chocolates, snacks, "couples fun" (ie massage oil/lotion), along with the champagne/flutes...she said they took it with them on their honeymoom and enjoyed having it.....
