Have been off a few weeks. Family trips that have been great. Reclaiming what I had taken away. I really want to thank my wife for her love and support when it isn't really deserved. And for her strength of character to stand up for herself when I never gave her that chance before. I never thought of my self as abuseive, but looking back on our marriage I wonder if my lack of communication and honesty and then my affair were an abuse? Any thoughts? But as we move forward in our recovery and not just in our marriage but in ourselves and our self desscoveries...I now so appreciate the woman I married. The woman I chose to share my life with. Her strength, love and compastion are more than I deserve but I won't take them for granted. Thank you Teach. I love you

Abuse can take on many other forms then just what many people think. Verbal abuse is a very common form of abuse and when you use it for things like self gratification then it's way more harmful then people think. Good job on your steps scream.
