I have scrubbed & scrubbed the shower doors.. With vinegar, CLR & comet spray for hard water..

Any suggestions if what to use for hard water spots on shower doors?

Half vinegar, half blue Dawn dish detergent. I just washed my shower out with that today and it looks pretty good.

You can do that same mix in one of those little scrubbies for dishes, the ones where you put the soap in the handle, and wipe it down daily after your shower to keep it clean.

ETA: This is what I meant

Idk about hard water, but I use a paste of baking soda, dish soap (dawn) and vinegar to clean the oilfield grime out of my shower. Spread the paste on, let it sit until it is dried and wipe off with a dry rag (scrub a little in the most troublesome areas). Works great.

Try a bounce dryer sheet.

Get it wet start at the top and work your way down, you may need more than one.

You can feel where the soap scum is as you are scrubbing.

Once all of the stuff on the dryer sheet is gone get another one.

Use the "used" sheet to wipe clean as rinsing alone will not cut it.

"The Works" shower cleaner is the bomb on hard water stains and soap scum. Hands down.

Lemon oil on a dry cloth.

That worked on mine before they flew off the track and broke. Bastards.

"The Works"! However, very toxic smelling, make sure you open the window and turn on the fan. But it is a fantastic cleaner.

Use a magic eraser with whatever cleaner you decide to use. I DO. NOT. KNOW. how I've lived for so long without magic erasers!!

Next time get the glass with 'Diamon Fusion' or similar coating - they'll look great forever.

TrulyReconciled posted 8/8/2013 22:43 PM

Short of that, you might try 'Kaboom' - it often gets things that nothing else will.

I've used Kaboom too, and it worked really well.

Magic Eraser!!!

if CLR isn't cleaning, could the glass be etched?

I use the half white vinegar, half blue Dawn on my tub and tub surround. Works like a charm. Rinsing is a pain though. Lots of suds.

We've used the magic eraser on doors and shower floor with success for cleaning. Alas, it apparently irritates W's feet, so we don't use it.

Scrubbing Bubbles is great on soap scum on the doors, and it's e-a-s-y on the muscles.

Turtle wax. It cleans the chrome shower fixtures too! And it adds a protective coating that causes the water to bead instead of staining. It's awesome!
