And I have NO IDEA what to wear on my date. It will consist of pubs for a few drinks in a city near me.
I have what you may call an unusual dress sense. I have a black, tight ish dress I could wear with black floaty sleeves but not sure if it would be too formal?
What do others wear on their 1st dates?

I have my first date tonight as well and asked this question a week or so ago. I got great advice! And I still dhac what I'm going to wear.

I'm going casual and my friends have been lending me stuff to try. I think I'm going the jeans and cute shirt route. I think.

I usually wear something pretty casual like jeans and a pretty shirt if I'm going to meet for drinks on a first date. However, I find that there is a different "dress sensibility" in different cities and different areas of the country. My daughter lives in St Louis Mo and people definitely dress "up" more there when going out.
And that is certainly a wishy washy answer, huh? I'd suggest that you call a friend who lives in your town and pose the same question?

Jeans and a nice little shirt sounds like a good option! I can't wear jeans though because I think a lot of places won't let you in if you're dressed in them. Silly I know! I don't know why I bloody care so much lol Usually I just throw something on when going on a date with a stranger because I don't care all that much.

There are indeed some places that you have to 'dress up' for.
I think I may go with some skinny black trousers and some kind of top
