My rule of thumb is that birthdays last at least a week.

The day was last Thursday. It's now Monday. I've had four dinners out so far. Craving another one tonight, before I head back to work tomorrow.

Have food in the fridge but I don't feel like cooking.

Permission to take myself out granted!

I'm easy that way....

I believe in the Birthday Fortnight, myself.

I say celebrate your life as much as you possibly can!

Happy Birthday!

Oh I like that! Thanks NT, I'm seriously craving a Caesar salad from this amazing Italian place right now...

I celebrate for the whole month leading up to our birthday Now I'm trying to work off all of that celebrating

nowiknow23 posted 8/12/2013 19:45 PM

My people celebrate birthday months.

I say you can treat everyday like your birthday especially if it allows you to eat an amazing meal!

jrc1963 posted 8/12/2013 20:19 PM

I say there's never too many birthday dinners...

Or maybe we should limit it to our age... in which case I'd need an extra 15 days added to my birthday MONTH of dinners!

I'm easy that way....

Well, if you are going to be easy, don't be cheap as well! Go some place NICE...

FaithFool posted 8/12/2013 20:54 PM

Trust me, I don't do cheap... My Amex bill tells the story.

Decided to hold off for tonight. My gay FB friend has told me that he has a better Caesar recipe and is going to do a live demo on Skype for me next week.

*love*

A friend is coming thru town this week, she's been teaching English in Korea since last fall, so I decided to forgo dinner tonight in favour of pub night with her a some choice friends.

She's ready for a blowout.

Tonight I opted for happy hour out on the lawn of the mansion where I'm currently living. Nobody uses it and I dragged my festival chair out there and basked for a couple of hours with my sangria. It was loverly.

Birthday *month* will continue with a sleepover at some friends' place next weekend. They live about half an hour out of town, she is Portuguese and loves her sangria and sardines, and he's from beef country and loves to grill so that will be a fun weekend of gorping......

I'm enjoying being in the moment here. Still have not finished all the desserts....

That's ok gma, you been busy...

It's the big 60 this year so 60 dinners wouldn't be excessive, right?

gma56 posted 8/12/2013 21:06 PM

Not at all !!!!!!!!!!!

click4it posted 8/12/2013 21:50 PM

risingfromashes posted 8/12/2013 21:59 PM

This is a significant year! Never mind birthday, birthday week, birthday month...This should be a birthday year celebration!

you can call next year the post-Big Birthday celebration year. By the time 62 comes along I will come up with another way to think about it!

My rule of thumb is that birthdays last at least a week.

That's what happens in my world, too. By the time the birthday lunches and dinners are over, I've gained a ton. But they're fun, aren't they?

Hey if you can get away with it go for it!!!
Happy Birthday...enjoy as many dinners/lunches/breakfasts as you can....HUGS
