at work!

Today was day two with students back in attendance.

2nd period started with a bang - for real.

Apparently two students were having an issue in 1st period and brought it with them to my room and it escalated from there....

Student A flipped off student B.

Student B started running his mouth.

Student A threw his spiral notebook at Student B.

Student A threw his composition book at Student B.

Apparently this wasn't good enough...

Student A picked up a heavy four legged table/student desk, held it over his head and heaved it across my classroom.

Student C went running for the door connecting classrooms.

Student D, E and F came to hide behind me and I moved them into the closet.

Me: *on the two way radio* I need an escort (code for security) to Ms. C's room, NOW!!!

Student A picked up chair and threw it.

At this point security and several other staff arrived to "escort" Student A out of the classroom.

Happy School Year everyone!!!

I seriously don't know how you teachers deal with it sometimes.

You're all saints in my book.

No one was harmed. But the desk has a big crack in the top and it's legs are kinda wobbly.

Man alive. Whatever they are paying you, it can't possibly be enough. (((jrc)))

Well... This district pays based on level of experience.

So, I have 8 years in this district... Which means that some teacher, with the same level of experience, sitting in a nice peaceful kindergarten with mostly very well behaved students get paid exactly the same as I do.

Oh and the district isn't too excited about letting my principal hire a paraprofessional for my classroom. A spot vacated two days before the start of school by a guy who decided it was safer to live in Miami. (no offense to Miami)
