I am on day 1 of my first ever juice cleanse - 10 days.

Any experience with this? Please keep me on the positive track if possible!

I have girlfriends who have tried this. I know at least a dozen who have started; exactly zero who have completed the cleanse the way they meant to.

One who passed out while driving and hit a light pole. One who was hospitalized. One who was told by her boss to go home from work because of the overwhelming BO caused by the toxins leaving her skin + the amount of time she spent running to the bathroom instead of getting work done.

None who felt healthier or lost weight in the long run.

Please take extremely good care of yourself and have a backup plan in case you need to abandon the cleanse for health reasons.

Cleanses are the worst, and not effective method of weight loss. Your body self cleanses. It's called your liver, kidneys, and bowels. They are always doing their job.

Cleanses can be very very dangerous. Can cause horrible arrhythmias, and ultimately the weight you loose, is the waste weight you usually have. As soon as you start to eat again, it comes back. It is also hard on your metabolism.

The best way to get cleaned out, and make yourself healthier, believe it or not is to not eat junk, eat clean and healthy, and exercise. It really is that simple.

Please pay attention to how you are feeling, and if you start feeling poorly stop. If it is warmer than normal in your area, please make sure you are drinking plenty of water. Dehdration is the enemy, and is often a contributor to the large weight loss seen with a cleanse.

I'm actually not doing it for weight loss, more for a detox and kickstart to healthier eating habits. I'm not bad, but could definitely be a lot better.

I'm doing pretty well so far, but have decided to just start with five days.

The juices are really good though. I'm doing this through a Juice Bar near my house - so I order my juices daily - a variety including my new favorite - hemp whey, strawberries and almond milk. The lemon and cayenne pepper was interesting, pretty spicy, but not bad.

And hydration is definitely the name of the game - I already was a big water drinker, but now even more so.

I have heard of the BO issue Ama, yeah, that would weird me out a bit, lol.

Thank you all for the feedback. I will post an update at the end of the five days.

I was never able to give up chewing. I thought I could ease into it, but I made a couple of terrible green veggie juices, some fabulous but high sugar fruit juices, and ultimately ended up throwing out a couple pounds of carrots.

I craved something solid to chew on. I have always had grains as a large part of my diet.

Good luck and be sensible. I don't think a short juice cleanse can do a whole lot of harm. People fast for various reasons, all around the world. If it helps you eat better when you get done with the juicing, then it sounds like a positive. I sure wanted it to work that way for me. I might even try again.
