I have an interview for a job with them--does anybody know anything about them? It's an independent contractor position interviewing people after their first dates. It pays $25 per interview; $15 for a no show. I can't imagine having enough interviews to make it pay as a full time job--most people wouldn't be available until evenings. (The interview are in person.)
Job hunting-bleh!

Yeah, I would think you'd have to have A LOT of interviews to make it worth your while.
Seeing they are focused on the busy working executive market, I'd gather you'd probably get paid for a lot of no shows.
Just my $0.02.

Seems like it might be a way for you to meet people that know about jobs at their companies. I'm sure you can work that question into the interviews.

Double check on the company. Somewhere I heard that they were in financial trouble, maybe even bankruptcy.

I hear the commercials on my satellite radio all the time. From what I understand, which could be totally wrong, men pay to have "lunch" with random women. On the commercials they always mention how they have hundreds of hot women waiting to go to lunch with you. That is mentioned over and over....the hot women thing. I don't know if this is a dating service exclusively for men but the commercials seem that way.
ETA: The commercials I hear on the Opie and Anthony station who, if you're not familiar with them, are "shock jocks." So they might have more commercials geared towards men.

Whether or not it works as a job, I’m sure it would be interesting. If you do pursue it, please treat it as you would online dating and be safe about it.

Their print ads make it sound like they try to match busy professional people with each other, and the interview process sounds like it supports that.
Not quite "random", and no mention of "hot".
Amazing what you will read when you're bored on an airplane.

Like I said...maybe it's just the station I've heard the commercials on. Opie and Anthony created WOW...whip em out Wednesdays. They were fired from one station for their Sex For Sam stunt where they were giving points to couples based on where they would have sex in public. A couple was caught in St. Patricks Cathedral. So I'm sure they probably changed it for the kind of people listening.

Ummm...yep.
From their website:
It’s Just Lunch was founded in 1991 by a resourceful, professional woman. She had been in a long term relationship when her engagement was suddenly called off and she found herself single again.
Determined to charge forward she initiated the tedious search to meet “normal”, well-educated professionals. Her friends sent her out on blind dates, she tried personal ads and considered video dating services; however, she wasn’t comfortable with any of these options.
She decided the ideal way to meet someone new was face-to-face on a lunch date, or for a drink after work. A simple concept yes, but figuring out the rest of the plan was what carried the concept one step further and made it a success; finding the right people to go out with and the right places to go.
Today It’s Just Lunch boasts over 22 years of successful matchmaking! We have matched tens of thousands of single professionals and arranged over 2 million first dates. You can find It’s Just Lunch worldwide from New York to Los Angeles and from Singapore to Ireland.

IDK - since most people probably cancel, you can book 6 interviews an hour, if two people show you get $110 a hour (4 cancels + 2 interviews)....sounds like a good hourly rate to me!

I like the way you think EK
With my luck, they'd either all show up or none would show up.

Scam. They contacted me over Linked In. I went through the whole interview process, did the training and lo and behold, never got any work. But they sure did get all of my personal information and my references.
Be careful.

Plus, if you look more about their dating site, the fees are ridiculous. I don't think too many people use them for their dating needs, which means not too much work coming in.
